OLIVER REED confirmed the promise that he had shown Richard and the team at home at Newbury last Saturday.

The colt jumped out nicely and was held up in midfield. At the 2f marker Ryan began to shake up Oliver Reed and he picked up very nicely going clear of the rest and having a dual with the eventual winner. He was slightly carried left inside the final furlong and kept on well and was just out paced by the winner Alkhalifa.

Ryan Moore was disappointed that he did not win but said that was probably to do with the ground. It was far from ideal conditions however Oliver Reed ran a very creditable race.

Lets hope he can go one better next time out.
